Characterized by the Russian dacha, summer country garden, and a year-round population of about 2000, Tayozhka makes a ideal environment for a center of spiritual practice. Generally most of the population consists of elderly farmers. During the winter months when the outside temperature can dive below -30 at times the most movement seen in the village is the slow pouring of smoke from the nearby villas. When summer arrives the contrast is vast as the village comes alive with the people vigorously tending their summer gardens and enjoying the warm continental summer air.
